Who we are
SnelRij brings companies and individuals who need something delivered urgently together with self-employed couriers on two wheels. SnelRij is responsible for processing the personal data described in this statement. We will add our company details (Chamber of Commerce number and address) at launch. Questions about privacy can be sent to [email protected].
Which data we process
When you request a delivery: your e-mail address (to log in), the pick-up and delivery addresses, the name and phone number of the contact persons there, a short description and the declared value of the item, your billing details, the order and the status of the payment. After delivery we keep the delivery photo and the name of the recipient. If you leave a rating, we keep the score and your comment.
When you are a courier: your e-mail address, trade name, Chamber of Commerce number, VAT status, phone number, vehicle, your rate, the area you ride in (postcode and radius), the documents you upload (such as your Chamber of Commerce extract, certificate of conduct, driving licence and insurance) and the jobs you have done. For payouts you connect your own Mollie account; your bank details are held by Mollie, not by us.
We do not process location data. We do not track couriers during a job; the customer only sees the status the courier reports.
Why
- To carry out, pay for and refund the delivery (performance of the contract).
- To keep invoices and payments as the law requires (legal obligation).
- To check that a courier meets the legal requirements, and to handle complaints and prevent misuse (legitimate interest).
A member of SnelRij staff can view orders and contact details to help you with questions and complaints. Every change a member of staff makes (such as a cancellation or refund) is recorded with a reason. Approving or suspending a courier is always decided by a person, never by an automated system.
How long we keep data
- Orders and billing details: 7 years (tax retention obligation).
- Delivery photos: 90 days after delivery, after which they are deleted automatically.
- Courier documents: up to 1 year after the account has been closed.
Who we share data with
We only share data as far as necessary:
- the courier you choose receives the addresses, contact persons and description of the item; the customer sees the courier’s trade name and phone number once the courier has accepted the job;
- Supabase (database, login and file storage);
- Mollie (payments and payouts to couriers);
- Resend (sending e-mails);
- Cloudflare (hosting the website);
- OpenRouteService (calculating the distance; we only send coordinates, no names);
- PDOK, the Dutch government’s map service (looking up addresses).
We make the agreements with these parties that the GDPR requires. We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics services. To keep you logged in, your browser keeps a session in local storage. Couriers who turn on notifications give their browser permission to receive push messages; you can withdraw that permission in your browser.
Your rights
You may view your data, have it corrected or deleted (except what we are legally required to keep), object to processing and take your data with you. To do so, send an e-mail to [email protected]. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
